UAB Athletics Will Add Sport Of Men's Cross CountryPublished by UAB SID on April 7, 2015 BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- UAB will add the sport of men's cross country to its athletics program, beginning with the 2015 season. "We are excited to start a men's cross country program," said Blazers' head track and field/cross country coach Kurt Thomas. "We will have two informational meetings to discuss the requirements needed to join the team for the fall. This will be a unique opportunity for current UAB students to be a part of a Division I cross country program and continue their love for running. Our goal is to field a championship quality team in the near future, and this is the first step." It was announced in January that a men's sport would be added in order to meet NCAA requirements. The Blazers will be looking to build their roster for the 2015 season as soon as possible. Read the full article at: www.uabsports.com
