TCU Posts Strong Showing at Reveille Invite - TCU Horned Frogs Official Athletic SitePublished by
FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU track and field team opened its 2013-14 season with a strong showing at the Texas A&M Reveille Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The Horned Frogs won three event titles while placing a student-athlete among in the top five finishers in 12 events.
On the women's side, senior Tricia Terry won the mile run, finishing with a 4:52.64. Junior throws specialist Megan Smith added a first-place finish in the shot put with a 15.78m finals toss. Senior Veronica Jones added a fourth-place finish in the 200-meter (24.35) while junior Lorraine Ugen was TCU's top finisher in the 60-meter dash (7.59). Among the nine freshman who saw their first collegiate action Saturday, Makaila Flannigan finished fourth overall in the 60-meter hurdles (8.73) while Anna Robinson was the Frogs top performer in the long jump (5.66m). Newcomers Tiffany Terry and Alexandria Peters also combined with senior Briyanni Thomas and junior Nefertari Hall for a fourth-place overall finish in the 4x400-meter relay (3:44.89).
