[Men's Cross Country] Hawk Runners Volunteer at Chicago MarathonPublished by
Chicago, IL - Illinois Tech Men's and Women's Cross Country athletes Volunteered for the 36th Bank of America Chicago Marathon, on Sunday morning October 13th, 2013. This is a great way for our passionate and lifelong dedicated runners from Illinois Tech to give back and help with a national event. Our students are so proud to spend time and assist with all they can for the participants of the marathon. Without volunteers, an event like the Chicago Marathon would be impossible to put together. It was great experience for our athletes especially since we were stationed about 400 meters away from the finish line. New head running coach Calin Hantau stated, "We are grateful and would like to thank the organizers for having us be part it. From Olympians to recreational runners, there were life lessons to be learned for everybody at mile 26, just .2 away from the finish." Read the full article at: www.illinoistechathletics.com
