As we noted earlier in the week, Justin Welch (Eastwood, Pemberville, OH) opened up his season with a new personal best. That throw moved him to the top of the boy's list. A pair of Georgia throwers, Brett Hardin (Harrison, Marietta, GA) and Caleb Whitener (Paulding, Dallas, GA), also improved their PRs by several feet to move up to second and third.
There were fewer changes on the girl's side. The lone mover in the top 10 was Patrice Gates (Villa Rica, GA). Gates, the national sophomore class record holder, improved by two feet to move from fifth to fourth position.
