Fresh off her personal best and runner-up finish at the Olympic Trials, Amanda Bingson (UNLV) proved she can stay fit after a long collegiate season with a dominating win at the North American, Central American, and Carribean (NACAC) Under 23 Championships in Mexico. Bingson easily won the competition over fellow American Brittany Smith (Illinois State) with a throw of 71.39m, her second best lifetime result. Smith, the NCAA runner-up ahead of Bingson, threw 67.10m, he third best result ever.
The men also swept the top two spots led by Jeremy Postin (Florida). Postin threw 68.32m to outdistance Alec Faldermeyer (UCLA), who hit 65.41m. Complete results are available here.
