Faldermeyer throws 5-foot PR in season debut with 35-pound weightPublished by
Senior Alec Faldermeyer (Minisink Valley, Slate Hill, NY) opened his 2010 season by throwing the heavier 35-pound collegiate weight at the Cornell Southern Tier Collegiate Open. Faldermeyer easily won the collegiate competition by heaving the weight 63-03.25, nearly four feet better than the nearest competitor. Faldermeyer enters the season as the top returning weight thrower in the nation. Last year he had a best of 79-07.25 with the high school 25-pound weight, placing him second in the nation behind national record holder Conor McCullough (Chaminade, West Hills, CA). That throw also ranked him in the top-10 all-time for high school boys. Faldermeyer's throw this weekend also added five feet to his personal best of 58-05.00 with the 35-pound weight last season.
