Sophomore Ashlen Veatch (Cave Spring, Roanoke, VA) set a new meet record at the USATF Youth National Championships in Illinois over the weekend. Veatch, throwing in the Intermediate Girls division, had ab est throw of 156'08", whichwon the division by more than twenty feet and was also better than the winner of the Young Women's division. The previous meet record was set by Lauren Chambers in 2007. The top performer on the boys side was Bradley Bolton (El Toro, Lake Forest, CA), who won the Young Men's Division with a throw of 214'04".
