OTC Elite High Performance Races - Official Site

Eugene, OR – The Oregon Track Club will once again be hosting several elite distance events, in conjunction with the OSAA, during the 4A-5A-6A State Meet at Hayward Field.  The three events to be contested include the men’s 800 and 3,000 meter steeplechase, which will be held on Friday May 22^nd, and a men’s 1,500 meters to be held on Saturday May 23^rd.

Competing on Friday for OTC Elite in the 800 meters will be Brandon Shaw, Will Leer and Mark Wieczorek.  In the 3,000 meter steeplechase the OTC Elite will line up 2008 Olympian Billy Nelson, Tom Brooks and Ben Bruce, who currently holds the fastest time by an American in 2009.  In Saturday’s 1,500 meters, the OTC Elite will be represented by John Jefferson, Ryan Bak, Louie Luchini and Don Sage.

Last night's meet had some good performances, but none of them topped the 600 meter dual between Nick Symmonds and Matt Scherer. Pick your winner before you watch the video! We don't know if this will go down as one of the all time match races, but we had to have some fun with this video...
