Keepin' It Pushin'

It's about that time, the indoor season on the college level is in full title, tonight pops off the Millrose Games.

Fun times, in and around the sport are to about to be had by many.  Episode #5 of PreRaceJitters' Track & Field Radio Show was published this morning.  We had lively and fun conversation with Lolo Jones that is probably the best yet.

As many know, Lolo is one of my favorite track figures because of the obstacles in life that she has overcome.  Homelessness and poverty as a youth - are things that are bigger than track.  I love an underdog and people that hold on to their dreams no matter is going on.

As Ross said in the first episode, people are naturally like to follow athletes that they admire and respect.  With that, the sport has never had the kind of coverage offered through traditional and new media outlets giving fans unparalled insights into the sport and its' figures.

The questions on my mind right now are who will deliver a crazy performance at the Millrose Games, how fast will the times in Glasgow be, and what's next in episode #6 of the radio show.

We're out!

It's a wrap!

Show No. 3 is in the can featuring Tom 'Big Dawg" Borish.  He can through the PreRaceJitters spot and totally did his thing.

We discussed the hottest topics in professional track and field this week.  The three of us (Jay, John, and Tom) ran down the marquee races, athletes, and issues affecting the 2009 NCAA indoor Championships taking place at College Station.

Let's us know what you think and we'll be waiting for your bold 2009 resolutions.

Until next time...

Episode 3

What's Going on Runnerspace?

A little birdie told me that the next episode of the "Track & Field Radio Show" is going to have a familar guest. I'm sure you know the name but probably don't know the voice.

I'll give you a hint.  He is a college track and field aficionado.

I just gave you two hints.

Peace

Happy Belate New Year?

I know...I know..it's a little to be sending out Happy New Years shout outs, but it's better late than never, right?

LOL..Anyway, one of the New Years Resolutions is to post in a more timely fashion.  Really.

It's an exciting time of the year. The college indoor track and field season has started but the big meets are about to start rolling.  It's actually kind of crazy to think that it is already running around again.

The professional Pole Vault Summitt kicked off on January 2, but for many fans and pundits the 102nd Millrose Games on January 31 marks the official launch of the season.

Sure, the news has been slow but it's about to pick up quickly and then runs through late September on the elite scene, concluding after the final races.

The big news this week is whether Eugene is selected to host a Golden League meet as the IAAF increases the circuit.  The city, North America, and the United States deserve a jewel like this.

Why?

Because for starters several generations of runners have been waiting their entire lives for this moment and secondly Eugene needs some love putting on the Trials and bringing the kind of meet that this country has never seen the likes of.

Happy News Year and hopefully your resolutions come true in 2009!

PreRaceJitters Introduces "Track & Field Radio Show"

It is a priviledge and honor to be a member of the Runnerspace community, since November 2007.

The excitement surrounding Runnerspace's grow is contagious, and I can not see wait to see what the internet's premiere social networking site brings to the mix in 2009.

We are have some news: PreRaceJitters.com has upgraded!

The new PreRaceJitters site features: sneaker previews, news, and a daily blog.  We don't want to give up all the details, but we hope you enjoy features and keep your eye open for more changes coming in 2009.

PreRaceJitters has introduced introduction of PreRaceJitters' "Track & Field Radio Show," an internet radio program featuring some of track and field's most prominent figures.  With that, Runnerspace's own Ross Krempley talks with myself and John W. Davis as the guest of the inaugural show, discussing the impact of NXN on the high school cross scene.

And we will have frequent blogs and a group right here on the Runnspace page.

I look forward to chatting with you and of course, add PreRaceJitters as a friend on Runnerspace!

Sincerely,

Jay Hicks
