These classes are actually Diablo lessons

Diablo Immortal will feature numerous MMO-like elements D2R ladder items, such as multiplayer hub towns and raids with eight players, PvP battlegrounds, and an massive Cycle of Strife system. These are all firsts for the franchise and some of those features -- such as various PvP modes and a multiplayer hub town--were ideas that originated during Diablo's development.

Diablo Immortal's Barbarian follows exactly the same formula that those who have played the game know.

When Diablo Immortal is creating new ground as the first mobile and free-to-play entry and as a social-focused MMO that is live-service, it was crucial that the game felt like a true Diablo experience.

The game may include MMO elements, but don't expect to discover that "holy three-dimensionality" of MMO character design. It's not in Diablo Immortal's class classes, comprising the Barbarian, Monk, Crusader, Demon Hunter, Necromancer and Wizard at launch.

"These classes are actually Diablo lessons," Burgess said. "They are quite similar to the previous Diablo games. We're not relying on the holy trinity: healer, tank and damage. All these classes are able to cause damage and have a great time.

We do have a few Paragon trees that offer group bonuses which can make you more deadly when in a group with others, but ultimately the goal was to just make classes that make you feel great and enjoyable, so we conducted lots of testing and balancing in order to make sure they were on the same page."

Diablo is known for its huge numbers of enemies cheap d2r items, impressive skills and loads of loot. Having all of that happen on the small screen of mobile devices instead of a huge screen for a PC, proved be the main challenge for the game's art according to lead artist Hunter Schulz.
