Hayden Weaver, a senior at Shadow Ridge High in Arizona, secured back-to-back victories in the boys elite javelin throw competition with a lifetime-best 198-1 (60.38m) performance at the 84th NIKE Chandler Rotary Invitational in Chandler, Ariz. Weaver prevailed last season with a mark of 169 feet (51.53m), before elevating to the No. 2 javelin competitor in meet history. Weaver, who improved on his previous-best effort of 192-9 (58.76m) on March 9 at the Shadow Ridge Showcase, ascended to the No. 11 performer in Arizona prep history and ranks No. 7 in the country this year.
