Portland teammates Laura Pellicoro, a senior representing Italy, and French athlete Fleur Templier, a freshman, placed second and third, respectively, in the women's 6-kilometer race at the West Coast Conference Cross Country Championships at Pepperdine's Alumni Park in Malibu, Calif. Pellicoro clocked 20:52.7 and Templier ran 21:05.2 for the Pilots, who secured the team title with a 40-46 victory against Gonzaga to capture the program's first women's championship since 2016 and 21st overall in conference history.
