I ran in high school and for the University of New Hampshire.  I got hurt my fifth year and didn't run for 6 years.  Now I am trying to get back in shape and make a sort of comeback.  You can follow my training and racing at http://www.logarun.com/calendars/djhocking/

Career Highlights

  • 2002 ICAAAA indoor 3000m runner-up
  • 2002 X-C Pre-National Blu Race 12th place, 18th overall (24:12)
  • Two-time America East Conference Runner-up (23:51 Franklin Park)
  • 2002 Region II XC 5th place, individual NCAA qualifier
  • 2002 NCAA XC Championship 58th place
  • 4-time America East XC Team Champion

 

Other than running I enjoy hiking, backpacking, being a scientist (yes, I am a proud nerd), teaching science, canoeing, and photography.  Mostly I focus on close-up photography but I'll take pictures of anything that catches my eye.  You can see my pictures at www.hockingphotography.smugmug.com
