42nd ANNUAL ARCADIA INVITATIONAL
FINAL MEET DETAILS/INSTRUCTIONS
Dear Coaches… Welcome to the 42nd Annual Arcadia Invitational!
Please review the following information so that you are up to speed for this weekend!
CREDENTIALS (PACKET PICK-UP):
The
Credentials (packet pick-up) area opens on Friday at 2:30 p.m. and on
Saturday at 7:30 a.m. It is located in the center of the Student Lunch
Area on the Arcadia High School campus (located at 180 Campus Dr.,
Arcadia, CA 91007). This team packet (credentials) contains your gate
passes, your team’s event listings, heat sheets, bib numbers, safety
pins, etc. Arcadia High School is undergoing a massive multi-year,
nine-figure capital improvement project and demolition has just begun
so if the campus; if the campus seems dirty, please understand why. Due
to construction, the athlete warm-up area is smaller than usual, so
please observe the posted signs.
Remember: credentials will not
be issued to coaches and athletes cannot compete unless entry fees are
paid. Checks should be made out to: “Arcadia Invitational” or to
“Arcadia High School”
ATHLETE’S ADMISSION:
Only
Athletes and Coaches are allowed to enter through the Participant’s
Entrance gate, located next to Credentials. All others must enter the
stadium through the regular admission gates. Please have your gate
passes (included in your packet) ready for collection. If you need to
exit and re-enter the stadium area, you must have your hand stamped at
the exit.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
Pleas
view the finalized time schedule now posted at www.DyeStatCal.com .
Heats sheets will be on Wednesday, April 8th. Please make special note
of the start times for each of your athlete’s events.
DRESSING FACILITIES:
Locker rooms are not available. Restroom facilities are provided.
SPIKES:
3/16”
needle or pyramid spikes are required on our synthetic track and runway
facilities. Spikes will be checked at the Athlete’s Gate, and a second
time at the Field Event and/or Starting Line. If needed, 3/16” spikes
will be on sale near the Participants Entry Gate.
CLERK OF THE COURSE:
The
Clerk of the Course check-in for athletes is located at the oversized
(30 feet by 50 feet) white tent just outside the southwest corner of
the track. Field event athletes must enter the field through this Clerk
of the Course check-in area also. Track athletes are responsible for
checking-in with the Clerk before the last call of their event. Field
event athletes are responsible for checking in directly with the head
judge at their field event area before the last call for their event.
If this is not done, an athlete will be scratched and replaced by an
alternate. Please have your athlete or a coach listening for these
calls.
CALL SCHEDULE:
22 minutes prior to an event - first call
17 minutes prior to an event - second call
12 minutes prior to an event - third call and check-in with clerk
(Alternates will be entered in the race if athletes have not reported before this third and final call)
We
have assigned alternates who will replace athletes who do not show up
by the final call. Athletes in BOTH a field event and a running event
must keep up on the time schedule and calls for their events. A field
event athlete must return and check in with the Clerk of the Course,
who will direct them to the staging area also included in the
over-sized white tent. At the staging area, athletes will be assigned
lanes, given hip numbers for the automatic timing, and then taken to
the start area. Athletes may keep their warm-ups on until they reach
the infield. A reminder: Spikes will be checked again at the starting
line. Exit from the track will be allowed only through the southwest
gate.
MEET-DAY SCRATCHES:
If for
any reason one or your selected athletes/relays cannot participate this
weekend, please notify the Clerk of the Course immediately so that we
may enter an alternate. This will ensure full fields in each event.
REMINDER: SCRATCHES AT THIS TIME WILL STILL BE CHARGED AN ENTRY FEE.
ANY SCRATCHES MADE BY TUESDAY, APRIL 7TH AT NOON PST WILL NOT BE
CHARGED. Alternates will not be charged unless the alternate actually
competes in that event. The school will be billed after the meet for
any alternates that end up competing.
ALTERNATES:
Should
you have an athlete or relay team listed as an alternate, they need to
report to the alternate holding area well BEFORE the second call that
is given ten (15) minutes prior to an event’s start. This alternate
holding area will be marked with a sign at the Clerk of the Course.
The Clerk of the Course will not call over the public address system
for an alternate. BE SURE TO HAVE AT LEAST ONE MEMBER OF AN ALTERNATE
RELAY TEAM IN THIS AREA BEFORE THE LAST CALL FOR AN EVENT. Be aware
that if your athlete is listed as an “alternate” that they are an
alternate for ALL RACES OF THAT RACE DISTANCE in their section of the
meet.

the 100m, 200m, High Hurdles, 300m Hurdles and 4x100 relay, the nine

direction in the team’s lane. The #2 runner will need to stay in the
team’s assigned lane until the designated “break point” at the
beginning of the backstretch.
