Walker's Pace: McNamara to Chase 4:00 Mile Thursday

Jordan McNamara will run a mile race at the end of Thursday night's all-comers meet at Historic Hayward Field in an effort to break 4:00.

The junior from Auburn, Wash., was a 2008 Olympic Trials competitor at 1,500 meters and was a finalist at that distance at both the 2009 NCAA Championship and the USA Track and Field Championships.

The mile is scheduled for approximately 8 p.m. Thursday. There is no charge for admission and the race is open to anyone interested in running a competitive mile.
