I just started running the summer before my freshman year when I was training for cross country. At first I didn't really care whether or not I did well at practice. During my first cross country race I was passing everyone else on my team and I realized I might actually be really good if I tried. I ended up finishing 10th place in that race and 1st to finish from my team. Since then I have always tried my hardest at practice and in races. Running is now the most important thing in my life. I am a sophomore at John Carroll High School in Ft. Pierce, Florida and Steve Prefontaine is my hero.
