Who I Am...

I run for Boston University, I redshirted the year to preserve eligibility for a 5th year. My first goal of the season was to qualify for the USA Outdoor Championship in the Steeplechase but my hamstring held me back considerably so now I am just getting ready from cross-country.

Training May 3 - May 9

3-9

S. 11am- 3mi up to Fresh Pond, 2 loops (13:03, 13:12) 5mi in 26:15 (5:15), 3mi down.. 11mi felt pretty good (7) went off of feel, didnt really know how fast I was going, hammy still tight but dont think it is slowing me down much.  4pm- swim 30'

M. 62:38 easy 9mi   legs sore, hammy not too bad (6)

T. 64' easy, decent clip but not pushing.. 10mi felt decent! (7)

W. 3mi up, 6x800 (2:18.6 average) with ~1:48 rest, 3mi down.. 10mi   fitness has taken a hit but got moving well by the end (7)  Having Peter for 600 of each rep helped a good amount.

T. 67' easy 10mi dehydrated but felt okay (6)

F. 62' easy/moderate, 6 strides.. 10mi decent (7) still feeling hammy a bit

S. 3mi up, 2k (5:52) 6' rest, 1k (2:48), 3' rest, 1k (2:45) 6' rest, 2k (5:54), 3mi down.. 11mi   decent workout (7), hammy a little sore. Times could be off by a second or two because I had to time myself with my phone because I forgot my watch!

Total. 72mi on 7 runs plus 30' swim. Decent week overall, still trying to qualify for US Outdoor Steeple. Not sure what I am going to do for races, not that many options. Hammy is much better than it was 2 weeks ago but I am still afraid that hurdling could be a problem since it isnt 100%.
