I thought Kara had a good chance with a mile left. Just hard to stay with the Africans at the end. I heard she was planning on taking a hiatus now to have a baby? Any truth to that? It would be good timing in terms of London 2012.

BLUSTERY BOSTON MARTHON ON TAP THIS MORNING

BOSTON (20-Apr) -- Athletes running today's 113th Boston Marathon here today will face a cold, stiff headwind as they make their way through seven Massachusetts towns before finishing in Boston's Back Bay neighborhood. Local weather forecasters say the winds will be steady, gusting up to 30 MPH (48 KPH).

Television images this morning from Hopkinton where the race begins showed foggy conditions, accompanied by 38°F (3°C) temperatures. Conditions will warm a bit to a high of 48°F (9°C), and the rain forecast earlier is not expected to begin until this evening.

The race begins in a series of waves: 9:00 a.m., Mobility Impaired Athletes; 9:22 a.m., Wheelchair Division; 9:32 a.m., Elite Women; 10:00 a.m., Elite Men and Wave One of citizens race; 10:30 a.m., Wave Two of citizens race.

Today's race will be broadcast locally in Boston by WBZ-TV, and nationally on Universal Sports (check local listings for the channel number). The race will also be streamed on UniversalSports.com which is available world-wide.

Over 26,000 athletes were accepted into the race, making it the second-largest Boston Marathon in history after the special 100th edition where over 38,000 runners were accepted.

I think an American will win either the men's or women's marathon, but not both. If I had to pick one I would say Kara will win the women's. She has been on a tear

I just posted them, does anyone know if the course was hilly? Or had turns? Times were fairly slow.

The video of the Duel in the Sun is awesome, not great video taping but great race. I met Beardsley at a camp a few years ago, great guy, lots of great stories.
